From golfing to exercise to camping, Brown County has various recreational outlets to get and keep you and your family moving and grooving!


Mt. Sterling Lake is located 1.5 miles outside of Mt. Sterling and offers both tent and RV camping. The facility has 48 camping slips equipped with electrical hookups.

Availability

The Lake is open and available for camping April 1st – December 1st.

Fees

Electrical hookup site: $15/day
Tent camping: $10/night
Monthly rates are also available

All fees can be paid to the lake host, at city hall or left in the drop box at the building near the lake entrance.

Located at Clark Park, this 18 hole disc golf course is dog and cart friendly. It features open and technical holes, some with water in play.

Location

As you take Main Street onto Damon Road in Mt. Sterling, the course will be located on the right after you pass Joel Oliver Pool.

Mt. Sterling Lake offers fishing and a boat ramp for (electric trolling motors only) boat access. No swimming or wading is allowed in the lake.

Boat: $5/day or $25/year
No fee for canoes & kayaks; no fees to fish

Rolling Greens is a full service 18-hole facility with a complete practice facility and Club House. Designed by the same architect that works with Hale Irwin, Bill Phillips became very creative with the existing 9-hole renovation along with a new and exciting 9 holes of golf that will rival any course in the region.

The newly renovated course includes wooded holes, full irrigation from tee to green, view of Lake Mt. Sterling, and two of the most exciting finishing holes in Central Illinois. The Rolling Greens Golf Club makes a great site for hosting tournaments and outings.
